  22.   The mod is super easy.  All you need is the appropriate screwdriver and a pair
  23. of wire cutters.

  25. 1.  Unplug the unit from the wall(duh)
  26.  
  27. 2.  Remove the top cover with two screws on the back of the unit.  Be careful
  28.     to not yank the speaker leads off.
  29.  
  30. 3.  Turn the scanner so that you are looking at the guts from the back of the
  31.     unit.
  32.  
  33. 4.  Look inside right behind the keypad on the left hand side you will see
  34.     two small resistors.  I think they are D501 and D503 but they are the only
  35.     ones in the vicinity.

  37. 5.  Cut one leg of each resistor and separate the two parts slightly so they are
  38.     not touching.

  40. 6.  put the unit cover back on and plug in(double duh)

  43. There, you are in business.  One of the resistors(can't remember which one) is
  44. for the cell mod and one is to slightly speed up the scan rate.  Then do a limit
  45. scan from approx 869mhz to 890mhz and hear the calls.  BTW, listening to cell
  46. calls is prohibited.  Have to throw that in you know.  This mod is only meant
  47. for technical experience and not for that voyueristic intent.
